Requirements
Requirements for Obtaining a Learning Permit:
• Must be 15 years of age or older.
• Complete DMV Driver License and Identification Card Application.
• Provide Social Security Number.
• Furnish proof of age, identity and residence address.
• If under 18, provide proof of school attendance, completion or exemption.
• Successfully complete required knowledge and vision tests.
• Pay applicable fees.

Requirements for Obtaining a Driver License (Class C) **:
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Complete DMV Driver License and Identification Card Application.
• Provide Social Security Number.
• Furnish proof of age, identity and residence address.
• Successfully complete required drive/vision tests.
• Pay applicable fees.
• If under 18 years of age, provide proof of school attendance, completion or exemption.
• If under 18 years of age, provide proof of 50 hours supervised practice driving if you have completed a certified Driver Education Program.
• If under 18 years of age, provide proof of 100 hours supervised practice driving if you have not completed a certified Driver Education Program.
** For those persons age 16 and 17 years old who have successfully completed all requirements to obtain a driver license, Oregon issues a Class C Provisional License (Graduating License). This license has restrictions as to who may be in the car, how old passengers must be and hours of day/night driving restrictions. This Provisional License eases a young driver into the responsibilities of driving, rather than being granted the full privileges in one step
